Privacy Policy

Aina ("Aina", "we", "us") is a personal beauty and style app that lets you try on hairstyles, outfits and makeup, analyze your skin, and find flattering colors and foundation shades. This policy explains what we do — and do not do — with your information. Aina is currently operated by an individual developer; you can reach us any time at nisha120226@gmail.com.

The short version: We do not create accounts, we do not sell your data, and we never store your photos. Live camera features run entirely on your device. When you use an AI feature (like the photo try-on or skin analysis), your photo is sent to Google's AI only to create your result, and it is not kept afterward.

1. Information we process

Camera and photos. You may use your camera or upload a photo to try on styles or analyze your skin. For the live, on-screen features (color analysis, makeup guide, shade finder, live previews), your camera images are processed only on your device and never leave it. For the AI features (AI hairstyle/outfit try-on and AI skin analysis), a single photo is sent to Google's Gemini API to generate your result. That photo is used only to produce the result and is not stored by Aina on any server.
Preferences you enter. Your name (optional), gender, country, measurements, chosen language, and analysis results are stored only in your device's local browser storage, so the app remembers them. They are not uploaded to us. Clearing your browser data removes them.
No accounts. Aina has no login, so we do not collect email addresses, passwords, or profiles from you (contacting us by email is your choice).
No advertising trackers. We do not run third-party advertising or cross-site tracking.

2. Third-party services

To provide features, Aina uses these services, each under its own privacy terms:

Google (Gemini API & MediaPipe). AI try-on and skin analysis send your photo to Google to generate results. On-device face detection uses Google's MediaPipe models. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Pexels. Some example clothing photos are loaded from Pexels. This does not send your personal data to Pexels.
Shopping links. "Shop" buttons open third-party retailers (e.g. Amazon, Sephora, Ulta, Nykaa, Myntra). Those sites have their own policies. Aina may earn a small commission if you buy through these links, at no extra cost to you.
Hosting. The app is hosted on Vercel, which processes standard technical request data (such as IP address) to serve the site securely.

3. How we use information

We use the information above only to make the app work: to show try-on results, analysis, and recommendations. We do not sell your information, and we do not use your photos to train AI models.

4. Data retention

Because Aina stores no photos and keeps no accounts, there is nothing for us to retain on our side. Preferences live on your device until you clear them. Photos sent to Google for AI features are transient and are not stored by us.

5. Children

Aina is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we will help.

6. Your choices and rights

You control your data: you can decline camera access, avoid uploading photos, and clear all stored preferences by clearing your browser storage or reinstalling the app. Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access or delete personal data; since we do not store personal data on our servers, most requests are satisfied by clearing it on your device. 7. Security

The app is served over HTTPS, and photos sent to Google for AI features are transmitted over encrypted connections. No method of transmission is 100% secure, but we design Aina to keep data on your device wherever possible.

8. Medical & styling disclaimer

Aina's skin analysis and product suggestions are for general informational purposes only and are not medical advice. For any skin concern, please consult a qualified dermatologist. Style, color, and foundation-shade results are estimates and can vary with lighting and cameras.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. We will change the effective date above when we do.
